- My name is Joti Rathore, from Bharian Dhana. I am 15.
When did you come to the hostel?
- I”ve been here two years.
Describe your family. Describe the family members, who they are, their ages, etc. Tell how it is to live with your family. What were the hardships and challenges that you faced, living at home?
- My father is a bus driver. I have three sisters. My mother is happy but the family would be happier if we had a brother. Another thing that would please my parents is if my older sisters would make good marriages.
What did you do before you came to the hostel? Work? Study?
- I studied.
What challenges do you encounter here at the hostel?
- None.
Do you like the hostel, the school? In what ways do you like or dislike them?
- My family wants me to be here because the facilities are very good. I also am happy here.
What makes you happy?
- I am happy when good things happen in my home. For instance, when there are weddings. Weddings make us all happy.
If you had three wishes, what would you wish for?
- I want to become a teacher, but maybe I want to be an air hostess. Then I could travel and I’d choose to go to the USA.
What would you like to do in the future?
- Well, I don’t want to get married. I see too much sadness in married people.
What would you have if you could have anything in the world?
- I want a computer. A computer would support me for my entire life, in many ways.
Tell me about your mother.
- She’s happy. I want her to always be happy. She has completed the 8th form.
What makes you cry?
- Anger. My own anger, such as how I feel when I am criticized. I’m angry when I lose at badminton.
